The excitement of the Bull ring, equivalent to the display of pomp and color at the Word Series in the United States, has long been the source of musical interpretation.  Some of these have captured the feeling of the crowd, others the breath-taking executions of the matador - but few have successfully combined the two emotions.

Music of the Toreador, recorded in Spain with musicians who are completely familiar with the sport, playing music written by composers who also have grown to maturity as fans of this national Spanish pastime, has completely captured the entire performance from the entrance of the participants, through the initial phase of the contest, following the program to its finale.  Each portion of the program is intertwined, each step clearly outlined, musically speaking, for the listener to hear and enjoy.

The performance of the Banda Taurina, conducted by Ricardo Vidal, is long to be remembered.  It's appeal is to all who love music, from the classicist to the pop fan, for this is music which is a part of a people - people of great temperament and feeling, and its music clearly and definitely portrays this wide range of emotions.
