Phyllostachys bambusoides "Japanese Timber" is a Giant a bamboo that is the most utilized in Japan where it is valued for its large, straight, thick-walled culms. The wood is of excellent quality. It has a maximum height of 72 feet with a diameter to 6 inches. Running bamboo. It prefers full sun, but can tolerate dappled shade. It is cold hardy to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
