Product description: Mr. President ran on the ABC Network from June 26, 1947 to September 23, 1953. Each half-hour episode was based on an incident in the life of one of the people who have held the office of President of the United States. The scripts were written in such a way as not to reveal the name of the President until the last line of dialog at the end of the program, when the President would be revealed. The audience was thus encouraged to guess, from the plot of the episode, which President it was. This series was created by Robert Jennings. Each week the president was played by Edward Arnold and included a supporting cast of Bea Benaderet, Gil Stratton, Hans Conried, Lurene Tuttle, and Herb Butterfield. This collection includes 16 original half-hour shows transferred from 16 inch disc recordings. Programs included: Battle Fatigue - 2-12-50 / Advice and Consent - 2-19-50 / The Loophole - 2-26-50 / Quid Pro Quo? - 3-5-50 / There's Hay in the Barn - 4-2-50 / Good Friday - 4-9-50 / Dark Horse - 5-14-50 / I'll Take Manila - 6-25-50 / A Man, A Plan, A Canal - 8-20-50 / Null and Void - 8-24-50 / Yellow Peril - 7-16-50 / Kissing Cousins - 7-23-50 / Zachary Taylor - 2-14-51 / U.S. Grant - 8-4-53 / James Monroe - 9-1-53 / Andrew Jackson - 9-8-53. 16 episodes on 8 compact discs.
