"Suitable for cooking, baking, making desserts and drinks"

Organic Matcha is shade-grown to avoid direct sunlight from young tea shoots about 3-4 weeks before tea picking to promote the proliferation of sweet ingredients in tea.

The Culinary Grade Organic Matcha is light green and the powder is soft and smooth. A touch of matcha aroma, with a natural sweet taste and a slight astringency.

The main usage is to make desserts and drinks, baking, etc., but also to drink directly, but the taste will be bitter.

What is Matcha?

Matcha is a type of green tea. It is shade-grown to promote the sweet ingredients in tea (from L-Theanine) and reduce bitterness (from Catechin).

The dark growing environment makes the tea produce more chlorophyll, which is more vivid in color than green tea.

After the sprouts are removed, they can be ground into a powder by stone grinding.

The nutritional value of Matcha:

Drinking a cup of matcha is equal to eating a whole piece of tea leaf. The nutritional value of matcha is higher than that of ordinary green tea.

Matcha contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), known as the "king of catechins". The antioxidant concentration is 137 times higher than that of green tea!

Catechin can promote metabolism, help burn fat and digest, and achieve the effect of reducing fat and losing weight. Matcha has excellent antioxidant capacity, and catechins can scavenge free radicals and delay aging.

In addition, tea polyphenols can dissolve fat, and vitamin C can maintain intestinal health.

Special recommendation:

Green tea is detoxifying and suitable for people who are always hot and sweaty. The caffeine of Matcha is the highest in all teas, and it has the effect of refreshing and relieving. It is suitable for students and workers.

Because matcha contains L-theanine, it greatly reduces the irritation of caffeine. After drinking matcha, it won't increase the heart rate or cause insomnia like coffee, but it will have the effect of decompression.

Pregnant women can also drink matcha, and the nutrition is very helpful to the health of the baby and the mother.

It is important to pay attention to the control of the serving size. If you drink less than 4 servings of matcha a day, normally the intake of caffeine will not exceed.

Product Description of Matcha Whisk:

Matcha Whisk (Chasen) is a must-have matcha teaware in the tea ceremony and it is handmade using bamboo. Peel the bamboo tube, then go through an extensive process such as cutting, thinning, polishing, crimping and shaping, etc., to complete the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) like an artwork.

Matcha whisk is used to whip matcha powder and water into a creamy froth.

The name of this matcha whisk is “百本立 “, which is suitable for brewing Usucha (Thin Tea) and Koicha(Thick Tea). It is especially recommended for beginners.

Suggested usage:

First time usage:

1) It is recommended to pour hot water into the matcha bowl first, and then put the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) into the warming bowl. Soak the brush head with hot water for a few minutes.

2) The curled ends (the branch of the Whisk) are slightly soaked and spread out. During the process, the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) has to be moved clockwise and counterclockwise to gently rub the center of the tea bowl back and forth.

➜This allows the brand new Matcha Whisk (Chasen) to enter a better state of use, and brush out a denser and finer foam.

Before each usage:

1) It is also recommended to soak the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) for 1-2 minutes.

➜The moistened Matcha Whisk (Chasen) will be softer and more elastic and will not break easily when used.

Precautions: :

X Do not remove the black wire on the Matcha Whisk (Chasen). The black wire is used to stable the branches of the Whisk.

X When whisking matcha, do not forcefully press/rub the tip of the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) against the center of the tea bowl.

X Matcha Whisk (Chasen) cannot be exposed to the sun, let it dry naturally, cannot be soaked in water for a long period of time

The Matcha Whisk (Chasen) is a consumable item and can be used repeatedly. As the stalks of 百本立 are relatively large and thin, there is a chance of broken branches after long-term use. The life span of each Matcha Whisk (Chasen) depends on the usage, frequency, and proper maintenance.

Each Matcha Whisk (Chasen) is handmade and the artwork and color of the actual object may be slightly different from the picture, the picture is for reference only.

The new Matcha Whisk (Chasen) needs to keep its shape, so it will curl inward to set the shape. As the usage increases, the branch will gradually straighten, loosen and change its color. This is a natural phenomenon, and it is also the most effective state for the Matcha Whisk (Chasen).

Cleaning and maintenance: :

After using the Matcha Whisk (Chasen), you should

1) Flush it immediately to wash away the remaining tea stains (do not use dishwashing liquid or soak it in water)

2) Let it dry naturally to avoid mold growth

To avoid deformation, it is recommended to place the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) in an upside-down form (handle up and brush head down) on Matcha Whisk Holder (Kusenaoshi) after rinsing. So it can maintain the shape, coolness and extend the life of the Matcha Whisk (Chasen).

Bamboo is a natural plant and is prone to mold. After washing the Matcha Whisk (Chasen), let it dry completely and store it in a cool, dry place.

You can also regularly use natural oils (such as olive oil) to smear the surface of the Matcha Whisk (Chasen) to keep the original luster.
