Zuni Bear Tapestry Hand Woven Necklace Reenactment

Zuni Bear Tapestry, made on a board lying flat with warp threads, then I wove in different styles of yarn to form a design. My own creations, NOT from a kit or a book.

I attended Reenactment shows, where I would set up my jewelry, leather, weavings and beadwork. Length: bone and beads are about 3" + cord of over 14", 17" on each side. T

The Zuni bear is black with a dark turquoise design/path, background is black and center beige with some olive color mixed into it. Swarovski crystals were added. The bottom includes hematite beads, silver beads, picture jasper gemstones and a center turquoise gemstone Zuni bear.

The neck strap has hair pipe bone(as used in bone chokers) on each side with black glass Crow beads. The piece is attached to imitation sinew which I hand braided, just tie it on to your preferred length.

It took quite a few hours to make, good thing I do love to work with my hands and create.

I designed, made and sold quite a lot of bead work pieces during my reenactment days, not much time for it now. 

An unusual eye-catching design--It catches the eye of most, for it has not been seen before.

 

This is to be worn as a necklace if you wish or put it in a frame as Art.
