The Silver date palm is superior to the regular Date Palm and Canary Island Date Palm. The superior rating comes from its disease and insect resistance. These palms look similar in appearance and size, so the uses in the landscape would be identical. The blue-green foliage makes a fuller head than the regular date palm. Leaf bases have orange/yellow spines that are very colorful.
