Once upon a time, comic book publishers offered subscriptions to their comic books. During the Silver Age, those comics were sent to the collector in plain brown wrappers, like the ones you see here. Naturally, virtually all of the children receiving these mail order sub comics immediately threw the wrapper away, and read the colorful comics contained therein. However, our consignor actually saved his comics in their original envelopes. He never read these sub examples, and reports that in fact he never even took these comics completely out of their wrappers! Offered here is the publisher's mail order subscription envelopes with the original comic books still inside! The two comics offered here are DC's 1960's editions of METAMORPHO #17 (final issue) and TEEN TITANS #14. CONDITION is nice. Both the mail order wrappers and the comics have been stored very carefully for over 40 years. We grade the wrappers VERY FINE (one has about a 1" tear, just like it did when it was received by our consignor). What we can see of the comics are about FINE/FINE+. The cover colors are especially deep and brilliant. SCANS: We are providing large scans so everyone can see how nice these are. We are covering most of the original address labels to preserve our consignor's privacy. Please be assured, however, that the original mailing labels, like the entire comic books, are complete.
