If you had to get one book on the Indian wars during the mid 1800's, get this one. Brady was a historian that lived during the early 1900s and wrote this book in story form with detailed descriptions of the warriors and soldiers, the landscape, pictures, etc; so it's easy to enjoy. He knew many of the people involved, and treated all with respect. Many of the soldiers were still alive when he wrote the book. Included are letters from General Carpenter, some of the survivors of Beecher's Island and the fighting near Fort Phil Kearny, etc.

The book is complete and in VERY GOOD condition with some overall wear. There is a name and date written on the top right corner of the front free endpaper. (see pictures)
