• Mount Washington, Pairpoint
• Salt and Pepper Shaker Set in Quadruple Plate Castor
• Shakers: Berry Shaped, Cranberry Inverted Thumbprint (IVT) with Enameled Floral (Lechner Vol. 3 page 183); aka Baby Thumprint
• Lids: Silverplate, 2 Part, Cemented
• Castor: Silverplate, Tied Sacks with Large Flower Medallion Center
• Antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) c.1880-90's
• Measurements: Shakers - 2 3/8" high with the lids and 1 3/4" outer diameter. Castor - 4" wide by 2" and 4 5/8" high.
• Weight, prepackaged: 7 oz as a set
• Condition: The shakers were created using the stuck-up method and have unfinished rims which are hidden by the lids, but worth noting. One shaker has a small divit on the side, which looks like a surface air bubble. The balance and other shaker are free of chips, cracks and fleabites. The enameled decor is exceptional and complete with minor wear and no notable scratches or marks. The interior of one has some residue on the bottom 1/4 which isn't distracting or easily visible without inspection. The other shakers interior is clean with no notable build-up or residue. The bottoms have light shelf wear as expected.
The lids are original 2 part construction with threaded tops and cemented bottoms. One is no longer cemented to the shaker (an easy fix). The threads are clean and function well on both.
The castor craftsmanship is fantastic. It is in good condition overall with some plate loss, most notabley on the interior and bottom. There are no breaks, dents or bends. The shakers fit the wear pattern on the bottom interiors perfectly indicating the set is likely original or at a minimum they've been married a very long time.
