Soviet 2S9 Nona self propelled mortar (airborne)
The 2S9 NONA (Новейшее Орудие Наземной Артилерии - Newest Ordnance of Ground Artillery) is an extremely light-weight self-propelled and air-droppable 120 mm mortar designed in the Soviet Union, which entered service in 1981. The 2S9 chassis is designated the S-120 and based on the aluminium hull of the BTR-D airborne multi-purpose tracked armored personnel carrier. More generally, the 120 mm mortar is referred to as the Nona, with the 2S9 also known as the Nona-S. Although no figures have been released, it is estimated that well over 1,000 2S9 were built.
This model is 3D printed and meant to be an economical alternative to wargamers wanting to expand their armies, it can also be used to build dioramas.
This model is made in nine parts, the turret, gun barrels (optional angles), hull, ammo boxes and tracks. The model will be sent with support material still attached for better safety during transport, cutting and cleaning by the buyer will be needed before assembly. The model is printed using PLA and gluing is needed, if adding accessories to it superglue type glue will be required or other epoxy glue.
The pictures are from one sample model, the models are similar in grade of detail after print cleaning. The model is dispatched in a postal cardboard box with protective material inside for better safety.
