It is produced in a brain structure called the pineal gland, which is responsible for the circadian rhythms of the body. The eye receives information about the light and darkness of the day and transmits this information to the brain. When the sun sets, or there is less daylight, more melatonin is secreted to biologically prepare the body for sleep. Due to stress and natural aging, the production of melatonin can drop off dramatically. Melatonin supplementation has been found to decrease the time it takes to get to sleep and increase total sleep time.

Ingredients:

Vitamin B-6 (from pyridoxal -5' phosphate [Coenzymated]), Melatonin. Other Ingredients: sorbitol, mannitol, natural peppermint flavor, stearic acid, and magnesium stearate.

Direction:

1 tablet at bedtime; 1/2 tablet may be sufficient for some people. Do not take more than 2 tablets daily. Place tablet under the tongue and allow to dissolve slowly, altering the position of the tablet to avoid prolonged contact with the same area.
