- Rhumb line is the shortest distance between two points on a compass appearing straight on a chart but actually curved due to the shape of the earth. This ancient mariner's game is played on a compass rose. Players place markers at coordinates to create a radius, an arc or a spiral to navigate their position and block their opponent. Rhumb line includes 1100 years of nautical history covering fluer de lis, mercator charts, sailing routes from Europe to America and sailors pastimes during ocean voyages.
