For your consideration is a hand carved African woman bust made of hardwood.  I was told this was Iron Wood, but may be Ebony.  It is very heavy.  The original log was left uncarved for the bust as well as the head covering, making this a very unique piece.  The knot hole makes for an interesting head piece.  You can see from the bottom that the inside is a dark wood while the outside is lighter.  This is an old piece.  Retrieved from an sale house that has stored this piece for over 20 years and was old then.  Stands 14 1/2" tall and is approximately 4" diameter.  Very unique piece.  Never to be copied.  Please make sure you look at the pictures.  It does have some natural cracking in the wood.
