For your consideration is a beautiful but rare and hard to find 1/2 litter Merkelbach & Wick lidded beer stein, marked as shown on the third photo. Also, the fifth picture shows the word "Depose". Amazing hand painted decoration of a drinker with a wreath on the left and the hexagon on the right. The hexagon is sometimes mistaken with the Jewish Star of David but it is actually a German brewing symbol. As shown on the last two (2) photos, the pewter lid is much clear on the inside than the outside. It is in pretty good vintage/used condition, free of chips. The pewter lid has a crack and the handle also has a thin/superficial crack on it (see last photos, inside the red circles for the aforementioned condition). The pewter lid does not sit straight (see first and second photos).
