This pair of antique Chinese Screen panels were originally made for inside window decoration in Buddhist Temples (like shutters). The Panels were collected from demolished Buddhist Temples along the Yangtze River area.  Handcrafted with a traditional Chinese design motif, the panels are painted in two-color tones to highlight the intricate carvings.  The panels are handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and a tenon structure—traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China.  Can be used for wall hanging, Headboards, or any home decoration. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear. Made of Cunninghamia wood (trees in the cypress family). Excellent Condition.
