Niagara Cutter Ntm200-1X11.5Npt-The Niagara Cutter NTM200 AlCrN-coated are three and four flute (depending on size), standard length, non-coolant fed thread mill. The same cutter can be used for machining both right and left hand threads. The remainder of the range can be used for both external and internal threading. Depending on the thread type and machining method, clockwise or counter clockwise feed direction can be used. Climb milling is recommended. Aluminum chromium nitride (AlCrN) coating provides good hardness and better resistance to chemical breakdown in high-heat applications than TiAlN, TiCN and TiN coatings. The carbide substrate is harder than high-speed or cobalt steel, making it more wear resistant at high speeds and hot temperatures, providing longer tool life. The straight flute design is well suited for NPT pipe threading operations. And the number of flutes send the cutter faster than fewer flutes. The teeth extend to the end of the tool allowing full threads to the bottom of a bore (internal). The shank is cylindrical and the end of the tool is held in place by a tool holder or machine. Rigid holding is recommended when thread milling. Niagara Cutter has been designing and manufacturing precision cutting tools since 1954. Specializing in end mills, cutting mills and saws, the company is based in New York and manufactures its tools at facilities in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. This allows the company control over production, from substrate to coating, which is essential for customers in a variety of industries, especially aerospace and automotive. Product Features
