About The Record:

Up the Mississippi, Volume 9, by Dukes of Dixieland, features trumpeter Frank Assunto, trombonist Fred Assunto and clarinetist Jack Maheu. The band perform a dozen songs that in their titles have something to do with the South or the Mississippi River (which include South, Milenberg Joys, Down by the Old Mill Stream, Old Man River and Down by the Riverside). Through their spirited ensembles and lively solos, the Dukes uplift the tunes and make them sound fresh.
