- The Corvette Stingray III was a concept car designed in around 1992 by Chevrolet's Advanced Concept Center based in California. GM vice-president of design Chuck Jordan staged a contest between three design studios to come up with their design for what would eventually become the C5 Corvette, which as it turns out, would look nothing like this.
