Designed for personal use as a follow-up for daily quiet times, the book contains 52 hymns, one for each week of the year. The selections were chosen because they address God personally and are not simply written about God. The author hopes that the believer, when using the book on a daily basis following their prayer time, will sing one song per week each day and learn the song better and enhance the believer’s prayer time when praising the Lord in song. Some of the hymns selected are “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “Whiter than Snow,” “I Surrender All,” “My Redeemer,” and “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee.” The 144-page book was published in 1989. It is 5-1/2 inches wide by 8-3/4 inches tall by 1/2 inch thick. Each of the 52 hymns has an accompanying essay written by the author on the opposite page from the song.
