This is a charming little mayonnaise bowl and glass spoon or server, made by Fenton Glass in their classic Silver Crest line. The bowl is 2 7/8 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide at the top. The base is 2 1/4 inches wide. It's made of milk glass cased in crystal glass with a crystal edge, that they called Silver Crest. The mayo spoon is 5 inches long and the bowl of the spoon is 1 5/8 inches wide. The spoon is made of clear glass (aka crystal color).
Fenton sold the bowl by itself as a Deep Dessert, beginning around 1948. The Mayonnaise set, Fenton's #7203, should have a saucer to go with it, which is not present. The mayo set began being sold in 1953. It was probably produced for at least 10 years. The entire range of Silver Crest production was 1940-1983, but not all pieces were made the entire time, and the peak years were the early 1960s, when over 70 pieces were made in this pattern.
There is no damage to either piece. This would make a great gift!
Both pieces together weigh 13 ounces before packing for shipping, so will ship in the 2 pound package rate.
