Winnipeg Conservatory of Music Director Julie Biggs holds a Master of Music in Voice and Opera Studies from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education from Minot State University in North Dakota.
Julie is an active member of the Association of Manitoba Arts Festivals and adjudicates throughout the province. Julie is a frequent judge of the Western Canadian Music Awards as well as Canada’s music awards- the Juno’s.
In addition to teaching Julie is an active performer and recording artist. Her debut album My Loving Days was nominated for a Prairie Music Award for Outstanding Classical Recording. Julie’s second album Passions: Art of Seduction was released January 2009 and is distributed by Outside Music. She has performed in many operas and musicals as well as given many concerts and recitals in Canada, the United States and abroad.
