#1074 After spending about an hour trying to research this piece I've gotten absolutely NOWHERE. I bought it because I thought it was just beautiful & I loved the Flow Blue look. It's a glazed Porcelain Teapot. Glazed Porcelain both inside & out. It looks like a Parliament Design. It's NOT Antique STRAFFORDSHIRE porcelain. It is marked VICTORIA STAFFORDSMIRE on the base. I know there is a city called Staffordsmire in England & so I'm assuming this must be where this piece was made. There was an old piece of tape on the base (I've left it attached ) that says "JOHN BULL PIT(cher)." John Bull is to the United Kingdom what Uncle Sam is to the United States. And the face on this teapot looks just like John Bull so I guess that's what they're referring to. There is some wear to the base but I can find NO cracks NO chips & NO repairs to the entire piece. While I really don't think this is a NEW piece, I really don't think it is an ANTIQUE piece either. My best guess is probably sometime in the last 20-40 years. I loved the "look & feel" of it as well as the mark so I got it. Measures 8" tall, 10" wide.
