Vintage Fenton Hobnail French (Opalescent) 4 5/8" Wrisley Cologne Bottle with NO STOPPER #289


Mold Pressed (6 Mold Lines), with Opalescent Hobnails Covering the Body, and a Ringed Neck.


While The Fenton Hobnail French Opalescent Pattern was Manufactured from 1938-1964, This Perfume Bottle Would Have a Manufacture Date of 1938-1940.


"Fenton began producing this perfume bottle for the Wrisley Company in early spring of 1938. Fenton made the No. 289  (known as #289 when produced for Wrisley, for all other production including Fenton's own line it was called #389). Hobnail perfume bottle under a contract with Wrisley through 1940. After that time, Wrisley changed suppliers. The way to distinguish the difference between the two types of bottles is to look for the number of mold seams. The Fenton bottles were made from a six part mold while the machine made bottles used a four-part mold. " - from the Fenton Identification Guide


It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION ~ No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or damage.


Measures approx. 4 3/4" tall x 4" across the widest area.


Would be a lovely addition to a collection, and would serve nicely as a small bud vase.
