Edo Gensou Kisshou - Edo Period Fantastic and Startling Imagery on Sword Metal Craft (Tsuba, Menuki, Fuchi Kashira, Kogai).
This book is a collection of the most artistically stunning sword fittings. Have a look at a sample of the pictures below. Although most types of fittings are represented, the vast majority of the content is Tsubas, and then Menuki. The grand thematic elements of these fittings, couples with their visually resplendent, splendiferous execution make them truly stand out as the most amazing examples of their crafts. Incredibly, the artisan were able to create special little visual realms within the constricted spaces in which they worked.
