(12) Twelve Antique Color and Black and White Postcards, circa 1906 to 1915. All pertaining to Rumford and Rumford Falls, Maine. Various publishers. Four undivided backs, and eight divided backs. Eight postally used. Condition: These are original postcards, not a copy or reproduction. All are in very good to excellent condition. Comments: Rumford is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,858 at the 2020 census. Rumford is home to both ND Paper Inc's Rumford Mill and the Black Mountain of Maine ski resort. Apparently the town was not named for the Scandinavian country. A clerical correction of the originally proposed Norage, the Indian word for falls, resulted in the name Norway.
