Kyat =  round and flat.

It was rumored that the odd denomination  was chosen because the ruler General Ne Win believed in numerology, the mystical relationship between numbers and physical objects or living things.  The whole set of odd numbered notes were demonetized only 13 months later.  There was no exchange provisions for these notes, representing 75% of the country's currency!  The owners simply lost their total value.  Image is not exact note in lot.
