Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1940s animated adventure comedy, PINOCCHIO, released in 1940 by RKO Radio Pictures and produced by Walt Disney Productions, in which a living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy.
The image depicts Pinocchio (voiced by Dickie Jones) as J. Worthington Foulfellow (Walter Catlett) and Gideon (Mel Blanc) watch him with different reactions. This actual photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features grease pencil and ink marks on the recto. Affixed to the verso is the original paper snipe that describes the image as well as the corresponding newspaper clipping of this photograph.
