(internal #S1720-48)  You are bidding on an specimen of a genuine fossil SQUALICORAX (also called CORAX, CROW or RAVEN) shark tooth.   It has a unique HEART shape, making it a great romantic gift.

MEDIUM measures 1" long (measured from the bottom tip, along the longest side, to the top of the root).

Latin "squalo" means shark, Greek "corax" means raven.  Species: Squalicorax pristodontus - an extinct species of Lamniform shark that lived during the Cretaceous period, 50-70 million years ago. 

This shark was a coastal predator,but also scavenged other meat such as Hadrosid dinosaur, as a corax tooth was found embedded in a Hadrosid dinosaur foot bone.  This shark grew to about 15 feet long.  Its teeth were similar to the tiger shark, but without the classic notch in the tiger shark teeth.
