(internal TN-BIR-OS-128A)  Excellent hand crafted carving of an OSTRICH (tagua nut) on a wood base, 5-1/4" tall.  

Carved in Ecuador of genuine, natural "tagua nut" which is a seed from a special palm tree there (Phytelepas Equatorialis).  The milk inside the seeds solidifies into a product so similar to animal tusk it's hard to tell the difference. New, no defect. Eyes are made of coconut shell dust; caramel color is achieved by briefly deep-frying the nut.
