This is a softcover book, Tales Of The City by Armistead Maupin. Originally published in 1978, this is a 1996 edition with a new afterword by the author. Here's a synopsis from the publisher:
"Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City has blazed a singular trail through popular culture - from a groundbreaking newspaper serial to a classic novel to a television event that entranced millions around the world. The first of six novels about the denizens of the mythic apartment house at 28 Barbary Lane, Tales is both a wry comedy of manners and a deeply involving portrait of a vanished era..."
Book is in like-new condition and has never been read. There is a black mark on the bottom of it, the kind of mark they put on books when they're on clearance sale (sorry I forgot to include a pic of the mark, so I'm making sure to tell you it's there). Asking $3.00 obo. Everything I have listed for sale is "or best offer", so feel free to make an offer.
