Vintage original 6 x 8 20-page photo-illustrated program from the 1930s version of WWI-themed war drama, J'ACCUSE! (I Accuse), released in 1938 and directed by Abel Gance. After serving in the trenches of World War I, Jean Diaz recoils with such horror that he renounces love and personal pleasure to immerse himself in scientific research, seeking a machine to prevent war. He thinks he has succeeded, but the government subverts his discovery, and Europe slides with seeming inevitability toward World War II. In desperation, Diaz summons the ghosts of the war dead from the graves and fields of France to give silent, accusing protest.
Printed for the film's original theatrical release in Denmark, this 16-page program features artwork of top-billed Victor Francen that is signed by the artist near the left border. The interior features b&w photographs with a center 2-page photographic spread. It is in very fine- condition as shown.
