HO Scale: Walther's (or an Athearn) Mechanical Refrigeration Fruit Growers Express Box Car, Model Railroad Trains This old collectible is used and ungraded, but is nice for a Christmas Holiday gift or for a collection. Not sure of the manufactured date, guessing 1970s? No box, was part of a personal collection. No name on bottom of chassis, but pretty sure it's a Walther's or an Athearn. A standard 7-inch box car, the plastic trucks have metal wheel axles, screwed onto a metal chassis. Couplers are metal lobster claws. Some minor rust present. These pictures were from our Unberigan Road, a dangerous route through the rocky Unberigan Mountains. It was a shorter path, but landslides and a narrow track made it challenging at-best during the favorable times of the year. After years of rebuilding the bridges and constant clearing of the rock and debris, plus the losses in down-time and money, the line was closed. What fun we had building it, running it, but times have changed...
