This is a pretty traditional Somayaki japanese tea cup, probably mid-century from the 1960's.
This type of pottery is called Somayaki or Somaware, and involves a double layer of ceramic that keeps the tea hot but your hands cool. The outer ceramic layer has plover shaped hole cutouts (they look like hearts but are actually plovers) that are edged in gold.
About 3 inches in size.
Pre-owned in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Could also be used as a planter or a candle holder.
