THIS IS A RARE HEIRLOOM VARIETY AND HAS A VERY GOOD STRAIN

This Heirloom open pollinated variety dates back to 1700’s is one the most attractive fall garden vegetables. The compact plant is edible and looks ornamental producing densely pack heads with finely curled leaves.

Vates Blue Curled Kale is a highly nutritious plant, and part of the cabbage family. This variety is more compact compared to other kale varieties. It over winters in most zones, but can be planted in in the spring or the fall. Does better than most in the spring after it has over wintered. Since Kale prefers the cold temperature, the lower temperature actually improves their flavor. Siberian Kale prefers well moisture during hotter months. Kale can be continually harvested throughout the season if outer leaves are clipped and the center bud is left intact.
