This is an old book from possibly circa the 1870s - 1890s. The title on the spine is: Kernwood, A Historical Romance. The book has 390 pages. There's no title or copyright page, or preface. The first page that has text says: "Dedicated, as a mark of respect, to General Joseph E. Johnston and the gallant survivors of the gallant army of Tennessee..."
Based on other sources, the complete title and author of the book may be: "Kernwood, Or, After Many Days: A Historical Romance Founded on the Events of the Late War, from the Manuscript of a Confederate Spy.." and may have been initially published circa 1868.
Spine leans a bit. Gilt lettering on spine. The ends of spine cover, edges and corners have some wear. Most pages have faint damp stains. One page (15/16) is detached and has edge wear, edge toning, chipping. There's red ink markings on the second page. There's marginalia on one page. There's edge loss on the rear endsheet.
