Richmond, VA: The William Byrd Press, nd but 1919 or 1920

A rare original copy of this regimental history from World War I. This was printed several weeks after the regiment was disbanded (presumably in 1919 though there is no date of publication - there is an owner's inscription dated 1920). The regiment was shipped to France for training in 1917. What follows is a detailed history of their combat engagements until the end of the war in 1919 (there are the requisite lists of personnel, casualties, the fallen, and a record of activities). Well illustrated with photos, drawings, and 5 maps.

Bound in gilt-stamped green cloth. 182 pages plus a map appendix in the back. 11" x 8".
