While visiting my husband's mother in Puerto Rico, he and I walked quite a number of times from our motel room in Luquillo to the famous kiosks for lunch and dinner, and we always passed through beautiful Balanero Luquillo. Of course, I took many photos on our walks. This pastel painting was done from a photo I took, but no one was swimming at that time. So, I added some swimmers to the painting.

Also, if you are unfamiliar with pastels, read on. They are made of pure pigment with minimal binding. They are a dry, immediate, and vibrant medium to paint with. If properly handled and framed, they will rarely lose their vibrancy.
