GOLD PROMO stamp on back. HYPE-STICKER on front. Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover looks great; a few creases near edges; light-scuffing, a few tiny surface abrasions, and surface impressions (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (plastic). Spine is mostly easy-to-read with mild-wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Serious Business, by Third World, peaked at No. 107 on the Billboard 200. It was nominated for a Grammy Award, in the "Best Reggae Recording" category. Forbidden Love was the first single. Third World supported the album with a North American tour. Serious Business represents a pivotal time for Third World. The talented group had spent the '70s and early '80s riding the precarious wave between roots reggae and pop-oriented, crossover reggae. Reggae Ambassador, both the vocal and dub version, stands out as the album's most creative moment, showcasing Third World's easygoing melodies and fun-loving spirit.
