Silver marcasite ring with black marquise shaped smooth stone. We tested the stone on a presidium gem tester and fell on "garnet, tourmaline, Iolite". Perhaps it's onyx, however there appears to be a scratch or 2 on the stone. 

This was included in an estate and the original owner was a avid HSN shopper! So likely purchased from a home shopping channel.
