The Blue Jays hammered Roger Clemens and the Red Sox pitching staff to the tune of an 11-1 victory. Leading the Jays onslaught with 2 hits apiece were Jesse Barfield (home run), Willie Upshaw (home run), Lloyd Moseby and Jorge Bell. Jimmy Key did not need the 11 runs as he pitched 8 innings and scattered 5 hits to run his record to 2-0.
In a losing effort Wade Boggs (a double) and Jim Rice polished their Cooperstown credentials with 1 hit apiece.
