PRESENT AND FUTURE:
When the Christmas book review sections reached former Harcourt, Brace advertising manager Doris Schneider in Sarasota, Florida, last month, she opened them up "with the eagerness of a desert island denizen opening a case of Canada Dry." But while she enjoyed the articles, Miss Schneider was so depressed by the ads that she wrote an article entitled "Why Not Mourning Bands?" for PW's January 14 issue. Miss Schneider's most recent article, "Let It Talk," came out in the December 17, 1949, number.
