This heirloom Bird’s Eye Chilli Originated from Vietnam. Average chilli peppers size vary from one-half to two inches long and one-fourth to one-half inches in width. Its smooth skin turns from bright green when immature to a vibrant red hue when fully mature. Its flesh has a meaty texture and encases many tiny seeds. It is packed with potent heat level of over 100,000 Scoville units. Bird’s Eye Chili peppers are a quintessential ingredient in Southeast Asian cuisine and are used to add spice and heat to foods. As a classic component of Thai curries they are used to make curry paste, added whole to curries and finally used as a garnish when plating curry. Depending on the color of these Bird’s Eye Chili peppers (green, red and yellow), there are three kinds of Thai curries: green curry, red curry and yellow curry.

 

Growing Peppers are like tomatoes, require well-drained fertile soil. Plant the seeds in good, well-drained, fertile soil and place them in a location where the get lots of sunlight. Watering a good inch of per week ensure high even yield. Apply fish fertilizer once every, chili plant loves fish fertilizer and they grow crazy tall and produce lots of peppers.

 

While Planting add a little bit of Bone meal along with compost and mix well to the top layer of the soil. In Northern zones start sowing seeds indoors about 2-3 weeks before last frost. Most pepper seeds sprout in about a week when the temperature reaches to about 70-80 ⁰F.
