Margaret Stevenson's life was full of adventure. As a young girl, orphaned and homeless in England, she entered the Thigpen family as a servant and with them crossed the Atlantic to the New World in 1659.

With the family, she came to live in Boston but suffered severely at that hands of this cruel family who claimed her as a bond-servant.

Escaping, she joined the Quakers and found kindness and happiness, though her life would be far from settled and adventure was still yet to be found.
