This story begins long ago with an ancient Greek philosopher named Democritus. As time passed, scientists from England, France, Germany, Italy, and Denmark all made contributions to this story. It is the story of the atom and we harnessed energy from it---from the Curies  to Enrico Fermi, Niels Bohr, and Albert Einstein.
