Vintage original 11 x 14 in. US double-weight matte photograph from the classic 1960s musical drama biopic, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, released in 1965 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by Robert Wise. Based upon the play by Rodgers & Hammerstein, a young novitiate is sent by her convent in 1930s Austria to become a governess to the seven children of a widowed naval officer.
The image depicts an exterior scene on the terrace of the villa of Baron von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) as he talks with his children's governess, Maria (Julie Andrews). This photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features blue grease pencil marks on the verso as well as the original paper snipe that describes the photo and two actual newspaper clippings of this photograph. It is in good- condition only as shown with multiple creases primarily beneath the top and left borders.
