Vintage 8 x 10 in. US double-weight matte photograph (not a vintage original) from the teens silent film western short, KNIGHT OF THE TRAIL, released in 1917 by Mutual Film Corp. and directed by William S. Hart. A cowboy must regain the love of his fiance, who has found out about his past as a thief and bank robber and broken off their engagement. In her anger at him, she agrees to marry a no-account who, unknown to her, is planning to take her money and leave her at the altar.

The image depicts an exterior close shot of Jim Treen (William S. Hart) as he pulls on his leather gloves in preparation of heading out on horseback while glaring at something off-camera. This photograph is a frame blow-up that was printed on a high-end matte stock and features a rich tone. It is in very fine condition as shown.
