What's on this DVD: Douglas A-1
Skyraider
This DVD is a collection of the US Navy Douglas AD-1 Skyraider. At the end of WW2 the Navy was looking for a new dive bomber to replace the famous Dauntless SBD. Three companies were in competition to submit a new design, and at the last minute, Douglas submitted the A-1 Skyraider. The Navy knew they had a winner and accepted the design. What the Navy did not know at the time was that they had a "Champion" on their hands. The rest is history as they say. We hope you'll enjoy these films, we certainly did. 1st Film: "Saga of a Skyraider". This is a short story by the Navy on the history of the AD Skyraider. From the inception, to the Skyraiders last days. Great stories and lots of great footage of the AD-1 Skyraider. Also, lots of footage of the USS Corral Sea, CV-43. The 1st carrier to get A-1 Skyraiders. Great film. Runtime 10:31 Min's 2nd Film: "Carriers of Korea". This is a very rare footage of the US Carriers fighting the North Koreans by Naval armament.
