What's on this DVD; US Army Trucks This DVD is on the famous Dodge and GMC Trucks of WW2. Just before WW2, the US Army needed to develop the "Army on Wheels" concept if they were to be effect in a war that sure to come. This collection is about just before WW2 and throughout the WW2 conflict. This DVD has some very rare and amazing footage of the famous Army trucks and we hope you will put on your construction hat and enjoy. 1st Film; "Army on Wheels". This film is by the US Army and it is all about the art of Wheel transportation. This film was filmed around 1940, just before WW2. The film shows the trucks and soldiers of that time period, traveling across America to prove the strategy of mobility on "Wheels". Fantastic piece of history as they traveled across the Great USA! Runtime; 29:33 Min's 2nd Film "The Army Moves" . This film shows the importance of how the Army gets it supplies to the front in our history. A great piece of American Army History of Transporting material to supply our army's battles. Great story. Runtime 28:26 Min's 3rd Films "Research and Development". This film show the need to test and verily new and old types of vehicles. One of the best proving grounds was in the Panama canal zone, where rain, mud, rust, etc can wreck havoc to any equipment. Plus lots of experimental trucks shown. Runtime 22:16 Min's 4th Films; "Ledo Road". This is a rare footage of the Army Engineers building the Famous Ledo Rd. To fight the Japanese in China, you need to supply it, General Stilwell needed lots of supplies to fight back. Thus, the they built 1000 miles though the jungles of Burma from India to China get the supplies through. This is 3 historical newsreels that tell that story. Great footage..
