What's on this DVD;  Alaska Highway  "The Alcan Hwy"

This DVD is about a collection of Building the very important Alaska Hwy. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec 7th, 1941, Canada and the USA decided to build road to Alaska to help supply lines. So, in Feb, 1942, construction started. 1400 miles later, a gravel road was created. What a feat and this is that story in film. We hope that you'll thoroughly enjoy the collection, We certainly did. Great piece of Army History!!

1st Film; "Alaska Highway". This is a film was created in 1944 by th army and tells and shows the building of the Alaska Hwy, sometimes called the ALCAN HWY. Lots of great footage. Color Runtime 35:19 Min's

2nd Film; "Highway to Alaska". This film is from the War Department #33 and it is a documentary on the building of the hwy. Black and White film. Lots of construction equipment being used. Runtime 8:59 Min's

3rd Film; "Highway North". This is a Canadian film about Canada's involvement in building the Alcan Hwy.  Includes a brief history of Japan's war aggressions which lead to protection the Aleutian Islands.  The Alcan was built to supply the Aleutian war effort. 14:39 Min's

4th Film; "Alaska Heritage". A story about all of the uses and the people of the great state of Alaska. Runtime 19:29 Min's

5th Film; "Alaskan Rampart". This is a film produced in 1949 about the greatness of Alaska. Great stuff. Runtime, 10:58 Min's
