Notes on Identification of Aeroplanes
Issued by the Signal Corps
S.S. 162 / O.B. 1102
USA School of Military Aeronautics, Princeton University
November, 1917
Rare original copy of instructional manual intended to train recruits on how to recognize French, British, and German aircraft active in 1917 (World War I). I believe this pamphlet was originally published by the British military but was shared and adapted for use by the U. S. military (stamped U.S.A. School of Military Aeronautics on the title page). Begins with a few pages of definitions and basic aeronautical explanations. The bulk of the pamphlet consists of b/w photos, illustrations, and silhouettes for each type of aircraft.
9" x 7.25". Original tan soft wraps. 52 pages.
Extremely rare original (not a repro) in very good condition!
